The Ebenezer Baptist Church of Cottage Hill is prayerfully seeking a pastor who has been called by God; ordained; dedicated to the ministry of Jesus Christ; and can lead and help to grow our membership as well as meet the needs of our community. Requirements may be found in the application package, and on the church’s website www.ebccottagehill.com.

The candidate must be able to fulfill the spiritual needs of the congregation through faithfully preaching and teaching the Word of God, providing visionary and biblically grounded leadership, shepherding the congregation with wisdom and compassion and equipping the church for discipleship, evangelism, ministry development and community impact.

Some pastoral qualifications we seek

A licensed and ordained minister in the Baptist faith.
A visionary with sound judgment and discernment.
Have a minimum of 3-5 years of pastoral experience.
Holds at least a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, college/university, and theological seminary training.
Demonstrate strong expository preaching, and sound biblical teaching.
Possess effective communication skills (written and oral).
Show pastoral sensitivity and the ability to provide compassionate care in significant life moments, including hospital visitations, funerals, counseling support and weddings.
Demonstrate financial awareness and responsibility.
Commitment to continuing education and development.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and gender.
Possess effective administration skills and ability to organize and lead staff.
Three letters of recommendation (clergy, layperson and personal).
Copies of license, ordination, transcripts of educational accomplishments, degrees, and any other certificates.
